Couldn't resist including this 'quip' from old Wrightie!
For the lasr couple of weeks Ian has been helping make up the numbers in the Monday Sevens, currently run by Shaun Dooley; as three of the regulars have been away on holiday in Spain. All were back last night, and Shaun had a squad of ten to rotate on the night, including Ian, who played for the last ten minutes of the forty minute match; which we won 4-1, in a 'double header' for six points, because there will be no matches for the 'return', on the August Bank Holiday Monday.
It's seems that the evergreen Wrightie thought he was worth more time on the pitch, as he was overheard saying to the Gaffer after the whistle had gone:
"I'm not used to being a bit part player. I'm better than that!"
Hmm, one to be filed under the "don't call us, we'll call you!" section.
